James, her father James started teaching her to play golf when she was just five years old. Over the course of four years she racked up 50 junior titles. The first time she played she finished with two top-10 finishings. She finished seventh in the AIG Women's Open 2020, which was held at Kingsbarns Golf Links. Lee was able to claim the first LPGA Tour triumph at the Portland Classic in 2022. The winner devoted the win to her late grandfather Min.
